INS News Opens South Asia Bureau

January 31st 2002 - The Australian based International News Service (INS NEWS) has opened a bureau office in Trivandrum, capital city of the state of Kerala, India.

Inaugurated by Mr. A.Abbas, secretary to Minister of Industries and Information Technology of the state of Kerala.

In the inaugural address Mr. Abbas said imparting of non biased news to the nook and corner of the world will only enable world peace and prosperity especially in the calumniated political scenario of the world, he also wished that the South Asia Bureau will definitely follow it.

Bureau chief Sam Asharaf also welcomed special correspondent John C. Chiramattil he will also work out of the new Bureau.

The South Asia Bureau is the first presence outside of Australia and as India is one world's most populous countries and is currently underrepresented in many international media outlets.

Over the next year INS News will be expanding it's coverage of the South Asia region and will focus on key events and issues effecting the people of the region.
