to War in Southern India; economic fears

-- Kerala State Chief Minister A.K. Antony said in the State
Assembly that U.S. attack on Afganisthan would affect the
the economy of the state because a good number of our population
being spread through out the world.
Mr. Benoy Vishwam of the Communist Party of India moved
an adjournment motion, said that impact of the war had a
great implications for the state of Kerala and nation.
" Exports were stand still and the fear of anthrax
was spreading like wild fire.
Opposing
the admissibility of the adjournment motion move by Benoy
Vishwam the impact of the war, Antony said that the cloud
of war has now spread to Europe and Gulf region.
There would be a toll on the state economy, if war continued.
Kerala state would be most affected state in India.
The war not only create an adverse effect but also push
the state in to deep crisis.
Locals
wanted the war to end at the earliest and India should not
extend any assistance to US and its allies.
Kerala
legislature was not favour of India being a party to the
war wanting India not to allow the refuelling of war planes
in its base.
The
terrorist attack on the World Trade Centre and Pentagon
and the later attack on Afghan, could not be justified,
" Kerala State Chief Minister A.K. Antony.
He accused certain countries adopting a double role in the
matter of fighting against terrorists,m. Some countries
engaged in ant-terrorism with a concrete aim of financial
benefits.
He suspected that US, Russia and China had rallied against
Afganisthan with heir eyes on rich oil fields.
India
being the founder Member of Non-Alignment Movement, policy
pursued during the time of Pandit Jawarlal Nehru, Indira
Gandhi,and Rajeev Gandhi, had a great relevance today.
The
Chief Minister wanted Union Government of India to try its
role to end the War.
