Trade: Poland mission in India for Talks

nine member Polish Trade Delegation headed by
Mr. Bogulsaw Kisiel, Commercial Counsellor, Embassy
of the Republic of Poland in India visited Cochin
for a discussion with the representatives of the
Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry, exploring
the possibilities of strengthening the two-way trade.
Mr. Bogulsaw Kisiel stated that the process of modernisation
and infrastructure building initiated in India and
Polands geographical locations, its integration
with European Union and attractive facilities for
investment could be tapped for mutual benefits by
the business community in both countries. There
is scope for increasing export of agro based products
including processed food items to Poland from Kerala.
Tea, coffee, cotton yarn, fabrics & made ups,
drugs and pharmaceuticals are the main items exported
to Poland. Imports to India mainly consists of organic
chemicals, iron & steel, electronic machinery
and transport equipment's.
Poland has technology and export and expertise which
can be benefit to India. Machinery equipment for
power plant, constriction and modernisation of Ports
& Ship repair yards, Supply of Fishing Vessels,
Infrastructure and transport projects.
Machinery and equipment for food Industry, equipment
and services for irrigation, water supply &
treatment sewage plants etc; Joint ventures
in different branches of Industry are the main
areas of possible co-operation.
Mr, Radhakrishnan, President Indian Chamber of Commerce
& Industry, former president, Mr. Vydya Sagar,
Vice-president Mr. Bharat N Khona, Advisor M.A.
Thomas and other members of the Chamber participated
in the discussion.
